Slow At Last

Finally, after all the intense business the last couple of weeks, we seem to have a hit a lull, thankfully. For a while we were having funerals every other day, it seemed like. The owner still has no intention of replacing our lost director. I think that's a mistake, because there are days when we are seriously understaffed. For example, today I had to go to the VA hospital about an hour away, and the owner was meeting with a family. We were the only two people who could have gone on a death call, and we were both occupied. I wonder what the owner would have done had we gotten a call? He wants to take a couple of days off next week, but we've got at least one service planned for Friday. We'll have to see what the week brings.
