When The Nurse Tells You

...to send two people because the deceased patient is 350 to 400 pounds, why won't my boss believe her?  We got a call from hospice that a patient had passed away, and that she was fairly large. My boss has a tendency to dismiss these calls, because he has been burned several times by having to go out with another person, only to find the "very large" person is only about 200 pounds or so. However, in this instance, the patient had been under hospice care for at least a week or more. I would imagine in that time the subject of weight would have come up. Despite the warning, my boss sent me out alone, and I had to enlist the help of the hospice nurses to get the patient on the stretcher.
