It's Official?

Rumor has it my boss is closing on his own funeral home this week. If true, this means that after a transition period, I will be through with him. My boss and I haven't always gotten along, and there has been tension between us in the past. It has been theorized that he's jealous of me, or feels threatened by me, since the owner and I get along better than the owner and my boss. I'm more like the owner when it comes to work; detail oriented, focusing on how things will get done. My soon to be former boss is a "big picture" kind of guy. He knows where he's going, but kind of muddles his way to his destination, depending on other people to fill in the blanks.
For example, we use a software package to generate our death certificates, transit permits, and other necessary paperwork. When it was announced months ago that he would be buying his own firm, his secretary asked him what software package would they be using? His answer to her was, "We'll figure it out." Well, here we are, days away from his purchase of our other location, and she still doesn't know how she's going to get her paperwork done.
All I can say is, good luck to him, he's going to need it.
